Refinancing

Are you paying too much on your home loan?

A quick check could save you money

Interest rates have gone up several times in 2026, and many people are now paying more than they need to. Lenders often save their sharpest rates for new customers, so if you’ve had the same loan for a few years, it pays to check.

Refinancing simply means moving your loan to a better deal, either with your current lender or a new one. We compare your options, work out whether switching is worth it, and handle the paperwork for you.

Is it time?

Signs it’s time to refinance

Your fixed rate is ending

When a fixed rate ends, your loan usually rolls onto a higher variable rate.

You haven’t checked your rate in a while

New customers often get better rates than loyal ones. A quick review can show what you’re missing.

You want lower repayments

A lower rate could take some pressure off the household budget each month.

You want to use your equity

Use the value you’ve built in your home to renovate, invest or tidy up other debts.

How it works

Refinancing in four simple steps

1. Tell us about your loan

Share your current rate, balance and what you’d like to achieve.

2. We compare your options

We look at deals from a range of lenders, including your current one.

3. You decide

We show you the numbers, including any switching costs, so you can make the call.

4. We handle the switch

We do the paperwork and work with the lenders until your new loan settles.

Know the costs

What does refinancing cost?

Switching loans can come with some one-off costs. These may include a discharge fee from your current lender, application or settlement fees for the new loan, and small government fees to register the change.

If you’re on a fixed rate, leaving it early can mean break costs. And if you borrow more than 80% of your home’s value, you may need to pay Lenders Mortgage Insurance.

We add all of this up for you, so you can see whether a new loan will really leave you better off before you decide.

Questions

Refinancing questions

Compare what you’d save on repayments with the cost of switching. If the savings cover the costs within a reasonable time, it’s often worth it. We work this out for you.

It depends on the lender, but it often takes a few weeks from application to settlement. We keep things moving and keep you updated along the way.

Sometimes. Your lender may lower your rate if you ask, especially if you have a better offer elsewhere. We can help you with that conversation too.

A new loan application shows up as an enquiry on your credit file. That’s why we compare your options first and only apply where it makes sense.

Yes, but you may need to pay break costs to leave early. We can find out what they are before you decide.

Often, yes. If your home has gone up in value, you may be able to borrow against that equity for renovations, an investment or other goals.
